The Roundtable 
The inaugural Australian Youth-Led NGO Roundtable will be held in Canberra on the weekend of February 18-20, 2011. The Roundtable will bring together the leaders of Youth-Led Non-Government Organisations for two days of information and skills sharing, the continuation of sustainable dialogue with the Federal Government and consultation with the Federal Office For Youth and other key players in the youth and community development sectors.
The Roundtable is coordinated by the United Nations Youth Association of Australia Inc. (UNYA). More information about UNYA can be found here.
This event has been undertaken as a project funded by the Youth Development and Support Program that is managed by the Department of Education, Employment and Workplace Relations.

The Outcomes
The Roundtable aims to:
- Bring together the leaders of Australian youth-led NGOs for
information and skills-sharing
- Develop the community within the youth-led sector and
between the youth-led and wider youth sector.
the Federal Office For Youth.
- Allow Government and other bodies to consult the leaders
of youth-led NGOs on relevant issues.
The Agenda
Throughout the weekend there will be different workshops and sessions focused on achieving the outcomes of the Roundtable. Areas to be covered include: - Information and skills-sharing between the leaders
of Australia’s top youth-led NGOs.
- Guest speakers and professional development
targeted to key areas selected by the participants.
- Dialogue and engagement with the Federal
Government’s Office For Youth and other bodies.
- Consultation between the participants and the
Federal Office For Youth.
- Other areas as directed by the needs and wants of
the participants.
The final agenda will result from consultations with the participants of the Roundtable, ensuring that the time over the weekend is as productive and useful for the participants as possible.
